A change is gonna do you good.....

I have so many faults and weaknesses if I tried to list them all I would need at least two blogs, but one that comes to mind today is I am a scanner personality....i love to try lots of different things, usually before finishing the previous thing.  I don't get bored, I just get anxious to try something new.  I flip back and forth and back and forth between projects, sometimes completing them, sometimes not...rather like an attention deficit disorder for really old children.

So it will come as no surprise that I am overhauling my blog.  It's time for a change.  Again.
In a few weeks, stop back by for a spanking new overhauled blog with new content, old content, new ideas, old ideas, farmy things, writing things, food stuff, and some new surprises.  I have several new interests (or old interests that I finally have time to explore) and I can't wait to share.

See you soon!

Poor Dog

She really is the sweetest dog ever....

Don't you just HATE it when they are sick or need the vet?

They just kill you when they look at you...

Our little Fifi had to have surgery....yucky lumps had to be removed.

But she's home, doing well and being spoiled by one and all.
Whew.

UNDIET

I promised you today you would meet
Meghan Telpner.  Her book Undiet debuted across North America
this week.
But what does it mean exactly to "Undiet?"
Meghan explains it like this:
"To UnDiet is to UnDo what we've been led to believe is "healthy", break some rules, redefine and reclaim vibrant health. UnDiet living is about breaking rules and creating a lifestyle that actually works for you.
It is about questioning the paradigms that haven’t been working for us and being brave enough to do our own thing in a way that makes us sparkle."

And Meghan sparkles!
She is the happiest dieter (oops, UNdieter) I ever saw.
Of course, finding that your book is at the top of Amazon's list doesn't hurt.
This week, I committed to read
and see what all the fuss is about.
It's fabulous.  Pure and Simple.
It's 264 full color pages of vibrant living inspiration.
40 simple, delicious and whole food recipes, tips, tricks,
mind-blowing stats.  Nothing is over-done...rather, simple ways you can
introduce a healthier way of living in doable baby steps.
A seven day meal plan to help you get started transforming the way you eat
and think of food, and an 8 week transition plan so you have guidance all the way.
All designed to help you see that "healthifiying" your life can be simple and fun.
And that is just what this book is....simple and fun.
Meghan graciously agreed to answer three burning questions for
my blog.

1. If a person wanted to dip their toe into the UNDIET world with ONE ACT and only one act of new healthiness, what ONE THING would you recommend first?

Drink. More. Water. Let's start there. We are made of mostly water. Water is responsible for so many metabolic processes from digestion to elimination. If we're not metabolizing, absorbing and pooping than we're not going to get the great goods in and the waste matter out. This means that despite our best efforts, they may be for nothing. Intake of fresh clean water will bring down blood pressure, lower cholesterol, make us prettier (healthier skin and a sweet glow), and make us lovely self-lubricating women. If you really want to dip your toe in the UnDiet world, you should totally try out the UnDiet Test Drive. This is a five-strategy, three-day challenge that starts by sipping more water and also gets you a full three day meal plan, and helps you to try and ditch the toxic cosmetics too. UnDiet living is not just about eating- it's a full, awesome lifestyle.

2. You positively GLOW in all videos and photos....do you use a natural blush and if so what?

See question number 1! I drink tons of water, and also loads of green juice- this is juice made with leafy greens, cucumber, parsley, cilantro, green apple... anything green! This is where we'll get loads of iron and we need that iron in our blood to make it bright. That's what gives us rich glowy skin. Free as can be blood flow and cellular hydration. I also eats tons of fat- organic coconut oil, avocados, olives, hemp seeds, chia oil, and organic ghee. Fat is vital for healthy skin. I do have one beauty care product I use- on my lips and cheeks. It's the maiden blushing balm from Living Libations . You can take a full peak into my cosmetic bag here if you like.

3. Your style (fashion-wise) is colorful, fun and seems to match your personality extremely well...what's your favorite place to shop?

My own closet! I hate shopping. It's maybe my most despised thing to do. I keep clothes forever and often have them altered over and over again until I have no choice but to retire them. I guess it's part of my UnDiet lifestyle- it extends to clothes too. I have a lot of bright vintage party dresses, that have been modified. For the rest of it, I go out twice a year and just get some extra accessories and accents to keep it fresh. My philosophy is to Recycle, Reuse and Renew. Before developing my health issues and getting into nutrition, my first love was fashion and as a kid and into my teens, I made all my clothes.

Meghan, thanks so much for taking time for this little interview.

TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT

My recent trip to the hospital was a sobering experience.
When I was little, it was one of my worst fears...having to go to the hospital...
or ride in an ambulance.
Working at a hospital for a number of years and having three kids
cured me of the hospital phobia (for the most part), but until February,
riding in an ambulance was still on my bucket list of fears.
When I finally did have to face that fear, I would happily have ridden on the HOOD of the thing if that had been the only way to get to the hospital.
God bless ambulance drivers.
Of course, I milked my convalescence for all it was worth
and spent a good deal of time in the big chair.
I also spent some time thinking about my diet.
Why?
Because I was told to.  That and my exercise routine (which is non-existent).
Yada-yada-yada I ended up on
 Meghan Telpner's website.

 Do you know her?
You should!  She is the author of a brand new book
coming out this week called
UNDIET.

Does that pique your interest?
Meghan is a Nutritionista who as a young woman, discovered she had Crohn's disease.
Not willing to just roll over and accept this sentence, she began to research how diet
and lifestyle impact our health.   10 years later, she remains symptom free, cured of a disease believed to be incurable.  "Undieting" is how she lives and what she teaches through her new book,
her website, and her classes.

Meghan's website offers tons and tons of divine recipes for everything from
snacks to smoothies, desserts to natural beauty treats!

...all made with natural, whole food.

On Friday, Meghan will be here on the blog
with her new book....come back
and meet her and get ready for the
UNDIET REVOLUTION!

Bunny Time

She is the product of the ever-talented,
Not long ago, Alicia announced her latest creation,
Maggie Rabbit.
She offered (and I immediately purchased!) Maggie kits
which included everything necessary to create a Maggie Rabbit...the
wool felt, the liberty print fabric, yarn etc...every last little detail...and
no one does the details like Alicia.
Which might explain why she sold over 1200 of these kits
in a day or so...every kit she made...gone!

I count myself lucky to have gotten my kit...I am
working on my Maggie right now...she won't be  ready for Easter,
but she is DIVINE!
Soon, Alicia promises more clothes, patterns, even little shoes!  How
cute is that?
This begs the question...what is a woman well past the age of playing with
dolls, and the mother of boys, to do with Maggie Rabbit?
No clue....none.  I just know she makes me happy.
Hope you have a wonderful Easter.
(and yes, I'm sure I'll have to have the patterns for more bunny clothes
as they become available!)

THINGS THAT DID AND DID NOT HAPPEN

I've been gone a while, but.....
I did not fall down a rabbit hole...

or get knocked over by a cow

I did not fly to the moon....

or fall off a tractor....

or out of the loft.

I DID however have my gallbladder removed...

which is way too much information, but it was a good picture.
And just for the record....
gallbladder-less is the ONLY way to fly.

I'll be sharing some fun new projects over the next few weeks!

Faves

bowls-7
is my new pottery obsession.
I love a good bowl and a  good animal with
lots of personality.  Rae Dunn makes beautiful pottery
including bowls and her dog
Wilma not only is the coolest of dogs, but has her own blog.
This is a new fave.

Do you know
 Jessica Swift?
She lives in a colorful world and blogs about it.

Oh my goodness the things she sells!
RAIN BOOTS
and

Serenditt in Pink 'make a wish' eye pillow
EYE PILLOWS
are my faves.

Lastly, I leave you with
Lotta Jansdotter

Her graphic fabrics, books and paper products
are legendary.
Recently, I bought a couple of her sewing books
and one of her stencil kits...oh my goodness,
the projects that are rattling around in my head make my fingers itch to
get to work (or play).

If you don't know her work, check into it.

Have a wonderful weekend.
I'll be taking a little time off, so check back
in a week or two...till then, peek at these
blogs for inspiration.
